From Gibraltar/Malaga via the Costa Del Sol:
A new road has been partially opened from La Línea near Gibraltar to Jeréz via Medina Sidonia. This is a good road as it avoids much of the heavy traffic between Algeciras and Cádiz.
Coming from Costa del Sol, go west past Gibraltar on the A7/N340, take junction 110 onto the A381 to los Barrios/ Jeréz. This is largely a dual carriageway apart from 2 x 12km stretches which can be slow.. Stay on this road until just before Medina Sidonia.(j.310). Take the A390 to Chiclana.
As you approach Chiclana, you will see a sign for Algeciras (A4/E5). Follow this sign and drive onto the dual carriageway. At the next junction (j.10), you will see a large Superstore set back on the right called Polanco, (identified by a small tower with a star of David on top) and another called Cash Diplo. Go off at this junction and follow the signs for La Barrosa Playa.
*Keep on the road signed towards La Barrosa, after 2 miles there is a roundabout. Go across this roundabout. Go across the next roundabout. You will pass a Supersol supermarket on your right. At the next roundabout, turn left. You will see a hotel and a small shopping street on your right. Carry straight on along this road for 300 metres or so. You need to slow down as the turning is easily missed – if you reach the Popeye restaurant you have gone too far.
You will pass a petrol station on your right and approximately 100 metres further on a yellow wall with two large stone birds on the gateposts. Take care - this road can be busy. Turn left here into Calle Gran Duque.
Proceed along Calle Gran Duque for about 200 metres before turning right into Calle Milano (the only right turn on this road). At the end of this short road turn left on Calle Mochuelo – Flor de Iris is on the right hand side, the next to last gate on this side.
